SUMMARY
OF PANDEMIC SITUATION:
For many years, experts said that if a flu virus stran mutates so that
humans can pass it to other humans, the new form will most likely
cause a global human pandemic (worldwide epidemic) with a high mortality
rate. Many millions would die.
The mutation has taken place.
There
is no vaccine yet approved for use against swine flu. It
will take months to make a vaccine, and it will be impossible to
develop enough vaccine for all who need it when they need it.
Tamiflu
and Relenza are two anti-viral drugs that
may help if taken when you first get the virus. Countries have stockpiled
these drugs, but there are not enough for all who may need it.
Few countries have prepared for this situation, and the United States
especially has been far behind other countries in its preparation.
In 2005, BirdFluPreparation.com originally (in 2005) provided you with
the first step of preparation: Education. BirdFluPreparation.com
has been renamed SwineFluPreparation.com.
